The Color Wheel Basics
Understanding the color wheel—primary, secondary, and tertiary colors—is the foundation of choosing good palettes. Analogous colors (next to each other) create soothing palettes, while complementary colors (opposite each other) create high contrast.
Inspiration is Everywhere
Look at nature, art, or even your favorite clothing for color inspiration. Websites that generate color palettes can also be incredibly helpful.
Testing Your Colors
Before committing to a large project, make a small swatch combining your chosen yarns to see how they look together in the actual stitches.
